My wife and I recently ordered your comb honey and we want to tell you, it is absolutely wonderful. I haven't had such tasty honey since my father had bees years ago. Your comb honey is so tender and so tasty, it doesn't compare to our local bottled honey. Raymond Jones

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Canker Sores and What Durham’s Bee Farm Can Do About ItWhat are Canker Sores? Also called apthous ulcers—or mouth ulcers—canker sores are shallow ulcers that form on the soft tissue inside your mouth. These mouth sores usually occur in the soft palate of the mouth, inside the cheeks, lips, gums, and sometimes on the tongue. Unlike cold sores and fever blisters, canker sores are the type of mouth sores that are not contagious. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services describes these mouth ulcers as reddish swellings that begin as a small round or oval sore. They usually burst within a day of onset. A thin white or yellow membrane edged with a red halo then covers the ruptured sore.
Before the sores are visible, they often tingle or burn. After six to 24 hours, the small round or oval depression forms and reddens. It becomes most painful during the first three or four days after onset. Pain often decreases after several days and the sore typically disappears within two weeks. Canker sores range in size from 1/8” to more than 1” in severe cases. Typically, these mouth ulcers last between one and three weeks, depending on size. Minor canker sores are flat and small—lasting only five to 10 days. Major canker sores are large and last as long as two to three weeks. What Causes Canker Sores? Although the cause is unknown for the most part, the sores seem to appear most often when the body has experienced some physical or emotional stress, poor nutrition or food allergies. While they can occur in anyone between the ages of 10 and 40, women in their teens or 20s seem to suffer the affliction of canker sores more often than men. In women, these sores are often tied to a woman’s menstruation, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. U.S. Department of Health and Human Service research indicates that viruses or bacteria do not appear to cause these mouth ulcers. They may be triggered, early research suggests, by a faulty immune system that uses the body’s defenses against disease to attack and destroy normal cells of the mouth or tongue. Recurring canker sores afflict about 20% of the general population, according to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services statistics. What Does Durham’s Bee Farm Offer to Battle Canker Sores? Despite the fact that nothing can stop them from occurring, there are several methods that people use to alleviate canker sores, including over-the-counter topical treatments, prescription remedies and other non-medical suggestions, such as avoiding acidic foods that may irritate them. Durham’s Bee Farm customers, though, have found that our product, Canker-Rid, stops and cures canker sores. Made from a proprietary blend of our Honey Bee Propolis, this product is a home remedy for mouth sores. Testimonials from around the country indicate how satisfied Canker-Rid customers are.
